Supercar 2010 Ferrari Gemballa

The 2010 Ferrari Gemballa (or Gemballa MIG U-1) is a supercar injected with jet-fighter-inspired add-ons and targeted at anyone with a spare few million dollars. German tuning house Gemballa - renowned for tweaking, tuning and titivating Porsches - is poking its nose over the border and taking a shot at an Italian.

Gemballa's MIG U-1 starts life as a $1.5 million Ferrari Enzo supercar but with changes to make an Italian weep.

The Ferrari Enzo's 6.0-litre V12 engine has been tweaked to boost the power to 515kW, double that of a high performance V8 muscle car.

Keeping the MIG U-1 stuck to the road is a reworked carbon-constructed aerodynamic kit, including a front lip spoiler with incorporated foglights and an overstated rear wing.

Gemballa has also added some rather conspicuous additions including what it calls "greedy air intakes" mounted on the roof and bonnet. Another standout of the design is the jet-thruster-inspired quad-exhaust tips.

Keeping the car's components cool is critical for an extreme car like the Enzo, so Gemballa has added louvred slats on the wheel arches and gaping openings in the side-skirts which aid in keeping the brake temperatures down.

If the forged alloy wheels look large, that's because they are. In fact, they're enormous. The front wheels are 19-inchers, and the 20-inch rear wheels are fitted with mammoth 335mm tyres.

The exterior of the MIG U-1 does have a lot going on, but don't think that's where all the attention has gone there. The equally-outlandish cockpit of the car gains quilted upholstery, redesigned seats, and a premium multimedia system with a touch-screen and iPod connection.

According to Gemballa, the bespoke MIG-U1 will be produced in a limited run of just 25 vehicles, all of which will be individually tailored to order.
