Revenge Verde - Australia Supercar

Not actually a pure Australian supercar but the idea is from an Australian. Revenge Designs, a US based company is set to produce Revenge Verde, a supercar that has 300kW of power and close to 680Nm of torque but with less fuel consumption.

It's the sexy green supercar with an Australian link.

The Revenge Verde is the brainchild of Queensland-born Peter Collorafi (pictured) and is set to be produced in the US by his company, Revenge Designs.

Collorafi wants the Verde concept to rewrite the supercar rulebook by using less than half the fuel of the most efficient petrol cars on the road — just 2.2 litres/100 kilometres.

It will do this using cleaner-burning 85 per cent ethanol-blend fuel (E85).

The secret is a frugal petrol-electric hybrid V8 engine, named the HP2ge. Revenge says it will be capable of Prius-and-ECOnetic-beating fuel consumption while pumping out almost 300kW of power and close to 680Nm of torque.

The Verde is expected to go on sale in the US this year for $US190,000 ($205,650).
