Showing off your Twitter followers
This post help to explain how to show off your number of Twitter followers (or fans). The TwitterCounter code allows you to add a daily updating TwitterCounter to your blog so everybody can see how popular you are. Yeah, show off.
As the post title suggest, it 's purely use to show off the number of your Twitter followers and maybe to lure new followers. Does the big number of Twitter followers reflect that your blog is popular? Not exactly. Even with big number, you may not get traffic from Twitter.
In addition, some fans followed other people's Twitter just for the sake of following. In return, they might get a reciprocal follower but doesn't means their followers will follow their post.
In fact, the whole idea of joining Twitter is to publish or tweet your short status to your bunch of friends. It is also one of those macro-marketing tool that you can leverage to gain more exposure for your blog.
Sadly, unless your friends are nosy, they will likely visit your blog thus increasing your blog traffic. However, followers who are total strangers to you will not bother with your status update or visit your blog. Thus, total followers are just number. As of this post, my Twitter followers has reach 234. (It is really 234 followers).
Back to the subject of adding a Twitter Counter, just visit their Button Code page to copy and paste their code to your blog element. It's very easy to implement the code. And after that, don't forget to follow my Twitter status and leave a message in this post's comment with your Twitter user name -- I will follow you back. Yes, you follow me and I follow you.
