Merging multiple RSS Feeds into group
If you are using BlogSpot or Blogger platform, chances are you will not be able to merge or combine multiple RSS Feeds into one group. BlogSpot or Blogger only allow to you to add one RSS feed at a time but if you intend to pick a few RSS feeds and present it on your blog, there will be spaces between the feed line and it won't look neat.
Experienced bloggers would not like the effect of disaggregated feed lines and wish to have several RSS feeds from different sites aggregated into one RSS feed panel. Multiple RSS feed merger widget might do the trick.
Below are your options:
Grazr feeds combiner
Grazr can pull RSS streams together into a “reading list” in a widget you can post on your blog, company website and make available to your readers. 1 stream of up to 50 feeds is free and there is a nominal charge for additional streams. I have tried Grazr and it does not allow you to select a single line from a feed. If you are looking for the latest feeds (single line) from multiple sites to be merger into one feed stream, Grazr would not be suitable.
WordPress RSS Combiner
If you use wordpress.org: try http://code.google.com/p/wp-rss-combiner/ If you use wordpress.com you can't.
Yahoo Feeds Pipes
Have a look at http://pipes.yahoo.com You can use their service to combine several feeds into one. Pipes is tricky and not fully features. Pipes does not allow you to exclude the post description. Even though you can filter the number of post (feed lines) from the RSS feed using the Truncate option, both the feed line title and description will be display, making the feed fatter. I was looking for option to just show the feed title in a single line.
After a couple of hours of experimenting, below is my set of RSS feeds pipes that merges RSS feeds from 5 different sites into one feed widget (the final output can be seen in http://malaysiadigest.blogspot.com -- bottom right of the page).
Google Reader Shared Feeds
Another work around is that using Google Reader. Google Reader provides the same function. Save all the feeds into a single public folder. Google will then provide a new feed for the contents of the folder. However, you must open an account with Google first. In addition, Google Reader support auto-share known as Public sharing. The down side is that there is no option to pick just one feed line to be shared.
About Pipes
Pipes is a powerful composition tool to aggregate, manipulate, and mashup content from around the web.
Like Unix pipes, simple commands can be combined together to create output that meets your needs:
* combine many feeds into one, then sort, filter and translate it.
* geocode your favorite feeds and browse the items on an interactive map.
* power widgets/badges on your web site.
* grab the output of any Pipes as RSS, JSON, KML, and other formats.
SpringWidgets
SpringWidgets has a tool called ExpressWidgets that allows you to build your customized RSS reader widget. The tool allow you to add multiple blog RSS Feeds and it will be combined into a single RSS reader widget (Flash) in which you can paste or embed it on your blog or webpage. You cannot pick a single RSS feed line.
RSS Mixer
RSS Mixer allows bloggers to efficiently mix multiple feeds into one. The mixed feed is then available as a Web page, mobile formatted page, OPML file, or embedded into an Apple, Yahoo!, Vista, and Web widget. No option to control the number of RSS feed line.
