Olympic Snippets - Dog meat on sale
Before the Olympic 2008 started, China has been very busy trying to educate her citizens, especially those at Olympic venues to refrain for selling Dog meats.
Dog meats is a local delicacies. Yuk ! To most westerners, dogs are pet and not meant for food. And they feel offended when they found that dogs in the streets of major cities in China may end up inside the cooking pots.
So that why China has been strict and temporarily banned the sale of dog meats to please the animal lovers and to project their image to the rest of the world that Chinese are not cruel to animals.
Apparently, some business minded guys start selling dog meats again on the streets. Prehaps they are offering the menu to the Olympic tourists ?

I never knew that China had been kiling and selling dog meats... eww... how can they eat that? I can't imagine our pet dog being eaten by humans..
Yes, it is quite common in many Asian regions - although some of the more "sphistocated" cities don't sport the idea
that's really a sad story. I never would imagine eating dogs, i love dogs but if that is their culture then we have to accept that anyhow we would not feel sorry for ourselves because we are not the one who eat dog meats.
